Nicki is an awesome hosts! We were stuck in a traffic jam and Nicki helped navigate me away from it, and she even ordered us a pizza to be there waiting for us since we were so late and had no time to go out for dinner before the opera. The place is gorgeous and comfortable! In the morning, Stu made us one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, and conversation with both of them was lively and fun! Thank you so much for making our stay a good one!!

Nicki is incredibly inviting into their home! The location was ideal and an easy walk to the casinos and local entertainment. The only downfall for the location would be the steep hill if you had any physical limitations. They provided everything you would need during your stay and served an amazing breakfast based upon when you wake up!! I would definately stay at Nicki and Stu's again; they informed you of the neighborhood and gave excellent advice on food and local entertainment.
Nicki was incredibly hospitable and friendly hosts. Their house is very beautiful and interesting. Check this place out for a great B and B experience!
Nicki's place is THE place to stay for your Central City stay; I had come up over the weekend and found it to be the perfect location for the event I was attending (within walking distance) and to my delight practically neighbors with the Opera House. The Lillian Gish room was a delight; I didn't look at the pictures closely, but while on the tour-the house has an incredibly rich history-saw that the bed is round; my 10yr old self was squealing. It was wonderful. The bathroom was right across the hall and there's a clawfoot tub to boot. There are two friendly cats at the home and one even came in to visit in the morning. Nicki is amazing-gregarious, friendly, inviting-a thourougly lovely hotstess. She knows so much about Central City and it's denizens, and has all the low down on where to eat, where to explore, and what's going on. She also has an amazing dish collection, and the house is renovated to the grandeur of past days. I highly recommend staying here.
This is a very beautiful historic home - centrally located for a short walk to downtown Central City - full of personal charm, quaint touches and genuine warmth. Each room has been wonderfully restored and decorated, accented by an array of interesting items. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room very quiet. Nicki and Stu were very gracious hosts, offering up information about the town, its history and sites to see. Nicki even took us on a tour of a local ghost town, providing a detailed background on Central City and its early residents along with a hike to a nearby waterfall . That's the kind personal touch you don't get just anywhere, and is indicative of the kind of welcoming hosts Nicki and Stu are. Nicki even recommended a scenic road out of town on the day we left. If you're staying in Central City/Blackhawk consider this location highly recommended.
Nicki was a wonderful host. She was friendly and made us feel at home right when we walked in the front door. She told us about the amazing history of the home as well as the historic people that had stayed there. She made us amazing margarita's and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. I would recommend to my friends and family to stay here. I feel like I have made a life long friend.
In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than a 7 day notice, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for you entire reservation.
Nicki is a wonderful hosts from the start, and responded quickly to the reservation request. I had no trouble communicating with Nicki regarding my dog inquiry, in which she gratefully accepted (I think my dog Baxter had just as much fun with Rupert, their grand-dog, as we had staying at their lovely home). The Lillian Gish Room was lovely, spacious, comfortable, and had beautiful artwork done by their daughter, done all around the tops of the walls. I noticed that they had placed water cups next to the bed prior to our arrival, and thought of how nice of a gesture that was in a dry climate like Colorado. I had a wonderful time talking "house renovation" with Nicki regarding her Victorian home, and you can see her passion for the home in the special touches all around. Stu was also enthusiastic about the home and gave us the last two slices of their homemade pecan pie! Also, a huge bonus was him cooking up the most delicious breakfast for us the next morning! Boy do they know how to cook! If you are looking to stay in a lovely old renovated Victorian home, with the hosts having just as much charm as the home, look no further than the Lee Mansion.
